Wild Yam is a beautiful little vine with glossy green leaves that have a wonderful pattern of veins showing. The texture effect is terrific! Small flowers in chains yield unique three sided seed pods. Dioscorea villosa dies back in winter and returns from the tuber each spring. Our plants are propagated here at the nursery and not wild-collected, but the original cutting came from the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina.
