Aristolochia heterophylla is a native of southeastern China and Taiwan. It is a relatively short, scandent perennial with small pipe-shaped flowers much like our native in size and shape. While it is capable of 6 feet up a wall or other structure, this little evergreen prefers to scramble so far. Try growing it spilling out of a large container to complement something more upright. The little flwers will dance above the wavy spear-shaped leaves very nicely! While it is capable of surviving some freezes, it is probably better in a warm zone 9 or south if planted outdoors.
